Alaska Day Festival annually celebrates the diversity of cultures and historical aspects of the Alaskan people.
Activities include arrival of special guests, interpretive programs at museums and parks, services at churches, exhibits and displays, receptions, food sales, road race, kayak races and other entertainment at various locations.
There's also a parade led by the pipe and drum regiment of the Seattle Fire Department, panel discussions and occasional visits by governors.
