What is the Auckland Lantern Festival?
The Auckland Lantern Festival is an amazing weekend event celebrating the Chinese new year with the spirit of positivity and light. The festival invites everyone to come out and light their lantern and welcome prosperity and happiness for the year ahead.
Over 800 handmade Chinese lanterns are lit during the festival which creates an stunning illumination in the sky.
Visitors of all ages can enjoy stunning performances of traditional and contemporary Chinese culture including martial arts, dance and live music from international and local performers. There are also plenty of vendors at the festival where visitors can enjoy authentic Chinese food and shop for handicrafts.

This is a free, family-friendly event, no need for a ticket.
