What is Balloons over Waikato?
Balloons over Waikato is New Zealand's premier hot air balloon festival.
Held annually in Hamilton, this event attracts balloonists from all over New Zealand and around the world who come to experience the fun, friendship and warmth of this balloon-friendly city.
Spectators can expect to see an amazing array of bright colors in the sky at the Balloons Over Waikato festival, as well as some crazy balloon shapes such as parrots, birthday cakes, rocket man, Angry Birds, butterflies, crabs and firemen.
Waikato is the perfect backdrop to experience an incredible week of ballooning.

The event is free but spectators must secure a ticket online in advance. There are a limited number of free tickets available.
