What is the Bratislava Marathon?
The Bratislava Marathon is a popular annual race that takes place on the streets of Slovakia's cool capital city every April. The race has grown over the years and now has around 10,000 participants running to complete the 26.2-mile route.
This amazing running event attracts runners of all ages from Slovakia and more than 50 countries around the world. There are various distances to enter, including a 10k, a relay and a senior run and walk, so everyone is welcome to take part.
Participants in the full marathon run two laps of a mostly flat course which begins and ends at the Eurovea Galleria shopping mall on the River Danube, approximately 1.5km to the east of Bratislava's old town.
Whether you're a spectator looking to soak up the amazing atmosphere or a runner planning to take on the challenge for the first time, you will experience a fascinating city emerging at your feet and around every corner.
Need to know
Runners must register their participation in advance online. There is also a time limit to complete the course - 90 minutes for the 10k race, three hours for the half marathon and five hours for the full marathon.
