Attend the Engineers' Ball in Vienna and experience a prestigious tradition for yourself.
Wintertime in Austria means romantic ball nights with the very best of the privileged class in attendance. Dance, socialize and perhaps even be crowned as the belle of the ball!
At a time when masquerades were limited to lords and ladies, Emperor Joseph II allowed the Redoute Rooms of the Hofburg Palace to be used for dancing by the masses. Court practices were imitated and then retained up to this day.
From January to February, tens of thousands of dance lovers from around the world patronize over 400 balls staged everywhere. Some of the most popular ones are held by professional circles and these lavish affairs go on until morning.
