Each year, the serene city of Sucre transforms into a voracious party zone featuring non-stop dancing, joyful music, and delicious food, and elaborates costumes, all in honor of Sucre's patroness, the Virgin of Guadalupe.
On this day people from all parts of Mexico make their way to Mexico's chief religious center at the Basilica of the Virgen of Guadalupe, located in Villa de Guadalupe Hidalgo.
At the plaza, the fiesta starts after the mass ceremony with delicious food, vendors selling crafts and clothes, along many performances of music and dance.
Whether you are of the Catholic faith or not, this is an experience you will never forget if you visit the Basilica in Mexico City on December 12th.
