What is George Town Festival?

The George Town Festival was conceived in 2010 to celebrate the city’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been celebrated every July since. This vibrant festival celebrates the diversity and rich cultural heritage of the city, with the theme of ‘A Festival for Everyone.’

This weeklong festival sees this already trendy and artsy city flooded with theatre, music and dance performances alongside a huge range of visual art installations and exhibitions. The festival features an impressive range of local talent as well as performers and artists from greater Malaysia and beyond.
