Spring Whale Watching Week is just around the corner which means it's time for the gray whales to make their annual northerly migration.
During the migration gray whales travel about 3-6 miles per hour, and cover about 100 miles a day. It takes them an average of 50-60 days to travel back up to Alaska.
Along the coast of Oregon, gray whales will migrate within 2-5 miles of the shore. People come from all over the world to learn about the gray whales that travel along the Oregon coast each year!
