The Havana Biennial features contemporary art from 200 global artists around the capital of Cuba.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of art forms in galleries, museums, and cultural spaces. During the event, Havana virtually becomes a huge art gallery.
It is considered one of Latin America's most important art events. The Havana Biennial began in 1984 as a competition but has since been re-purposed to educate on art and promote emerging Latin and Caribbean artists.
Artists from Africa, Asia and the Middle East are also recognized, with the occasional nod to European, Japanese and US work.
