What is Hong Kong Chinese New Year?
If you are lucky enough to find yourself in Hong Kong during Chinese New Year, you will experience the city's biggest and most colorful festival! Marked with its unique blend of modern and ancient traditions, the Hong Kong Chinese New Year celebrations are quite different from how the Mainland honors the age-old custom.
The main festivities are held over three days, which are public holidays, and include a colorful night parade, a spectacular fireworks display, and horse racing. The celebrations are so popular they often top of world's best festival event lists.
Light an incense stick and pray for blessings to come your way then catch a glimpse of dancing dragons as well as colorful floats and traditional Chinese dancers parading through the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui.

With colorful floats, marching bands, acrobats, drummers, traditional Chinese dancers and other performers from all over the world, plus a dazzling fireworks show, make the parade a must see event. The parade usually lasts around an hour and a half.
