What is the Kodiak Crab Festival?

Sponsored by Kodiak's Chamber of Commerce, the Kodiak Crab Festival is a much loved community event  which brings five days of food and fun over Memorial Day Weekend. Festivities also include traditional and quirky tournaments, games, races and competitions. The festival is held on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, ending on Memorial Day.

Need to know

Don't miss the Kodiak Crab Festival Grand Parade, it's a wonderful highlight of the event!

Did you know?

The festival began in 1958 to market King Crab which at the time was not a well-known or popular food. As the King Crab industry declined and other crab fisheries grew in Kodiak, the 'King' was dropped from the name and the festival became the 'Kodiak Crab Festival'.
