Lhabab Duchen Festival is one of the four great Tibetan Buddhist festivals commemorating four events in the life of the Buddha.
On this day, there are a large number of pilgrims in Lhasa. Ladders are painted afresh on rocks around many monasteries to symbolize the event.
It is part of Tibetan Buddhist tradition to engage in virtuous activities and prayer on this day.
Tibetan people hold Buddhist activities on this day each year, celebrating Buddha's return to the human world and promoting Buddhism.
