What is the Masskara Festival?
This colorful festival takes place every October in the city of Bacolod in the Philippines. Thousands of people flock to experience the festival of 'many faces' and see the vibrant city at its liveliest.
There are celebrations across the month including concerts, parades, food fairs, dancing, street parties, and live music.
One of the main events of the Masskara Festival is the street dancing competition where dancers wear colorful costumes and masks and move to the rhythm of Latin music.
This joyous occasion is really something to witness. Dance from sunrise until sunset at one of the gigantic street parties where participants wear flamboyant costumes, beautiful headdresses, and colorful, hand-painted masks.
