What is the Med Festival?
Every summer, Portugal hosts the fantastic Med Festival in the historic area of Loule.
During the festival, the historic city center becomes a stage filled with diverse artists and musical performances. Many of the festival's performances take inspiration from the culture of Mediterranean countries.
This well known festival is loved by tourists and locals alike. You can expect to find all kinds of activities and entertainment including films screenings, literature readings, theatre performances, visual arts exhibitions, handicraft displays and gastronomic pop ups.
Need to know
The festival has a special area for kids to enjoy during the festival. There's plenty to keep them entertained including face painting, balloon modeling, traditional games (donkey game, rings game, bowling, among others), coloring and assorted games.
Did you know?
The first Med Festival began back in 2004 as a way to promote and revitalize the city of Loule's historic area and has been going strong ever since.
