What is the Nice Carnival?
Once a year the beautiful city of Nice on the French Riviera comes alive like never before. Spread across 15 days and nights, the Nice Carnival truly deserves its accolade of being one of the largest and most impressive carnivals in the world. Get ready to see fantastically decorated floats and gigantic papier-mâché figurines. Don’t miss the world-famous flower parade where extravagantly dressed characters throw flowers into the crowd along the Promenade des Anglais and more than a thousand dancers and musicians from around the world perform.

For the best view, buy a ticket in advance and reserve your seat in the grandstand. Alternatively, line the streets and enjoy the festive atmosphere with locals and tourists side by side.
Did You Know?
Nice is also known as “Nice la Belle”, which means “Nice the Beautiful”. With its pristine beach, rich history and incredible architecture it’s easy to see how Nice’s nickname reflects its beauty. It is also the title of the unofficial anthem of the city, written in 1912 by Menica Rondelly.
