What is the Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta?
Every March, the Malaysian city of Putrajaya hosts its annual International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, a wonderful family-friendly event that is suitable for all ages.
Visitors can expect to see lots of colorful, hot air balloons in all shapes and sizes, including some outrageous and quirkily-shaped ones. Previous fiestas have included balloons shaped like Darth Vader's head, a cat, a clown, a pink elephant's head and even one shaped like a giant peacock. The fiesta's program of activities also includes fun helicopter rides, archery lessons, a flea market and evening fireworks displays.
Putrajaya is just a stone throw away from the city of Kuala Lumpur and the fiesta attracts thousands of visitors every year from near and far.
