What is the Rome Marathon?

The Rome Marathon is an annual 26.2-mile road race in Italy's capital city every spring.

Every year thousands of runners from around the world gather in Rome to enjoy the pleasant temperatures and take on the epic endurance race. The marathon route is unlike any other in the world. It begins and ends by the iconic Colosseum and passes by many of  Rome's historic landmarks such as the Piazza di Spagna, the Trevi fountain, the Vatican and St. Peters Square. It really is a once in a lifetime experience and a race all marathoner runners will treasure forever.

To take part in the Rome marathon all runners must register online in advance to secure a place.

Did you know?

Although Rome is known as the 'City of Seven Hills' the marathon course is very flat, giving runners the chance of a personal best - just watch out for those cobblestones en route which some participants may find a struggle.
