What is the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras?
One of Australia's most well-known and cherished LGBTQ+ events is the annual Mardi Gras festival. Every year it draws tens of thousands of people to Sydney to join in with the festivities. The vibrant festival has become a week-long program of activities, entertainment and events.
The most famous part of Sydney Mardi Gras has to be the colorful parade. For over 40 years, the parade has seen hundreds of floats and thousands of rainbow, glitter and leather-clad marchers, come together to showcase the dynamic diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.
