What is the Taiwan International Balloon Festival?
Taiwan's International Balloon Festival is an incredible event that sees around 40 hot air balloons from all over the world take to the skies. The balloons come in every shape, size and design imaginable, from cartoon characters such as the Minions and Tweetie Pie to steam trains and ice cream cones.
This colorful fiesta provides entertainment for all ages, with 3D light shows, virtual reality experiences and live music concerts as well as Taiwanese cuisine to enjoy.
This really is the best time to experience a flight in a hot air balloon or simply keep your feet firmly on the ground as hundreds of balloons fly high into the sky.

The festival takes place over ten weeks in the summer months at the beautiful Taitung County’s Luye Plateau, which is located amongst the stunning mountains of Taiwan’s majestic East Rift Valley.

Since it started back in 2011, over 4.6 million people have attended the Taiwan International Balloon Festival. The Travel Channel also recently named it one of the world's 'Top 12 Stunning Hot Air Balloon Festivals'.
