What is the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival?
Watch as thousands of dragon boat athletes gather from all over the world for this thrilling weekend in Hong Kong. Over two-days, spectators, boosted by the sound of drummers, cheer on the paddlers as they race to the finish line off Tsim Sha Tsui East Promenade.
This special event is not just about boat racing. Spectators can expect to find plenty of activities and entertainment over the course of the weekend, including traditional lion dances, live music, competitions and game booths, as well as plenty of food trucks to satisfy all tastebuds.

The Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races take place in the heart of the city at Victoria Harbour and is hosted by the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Did you know?
Each dragon boat has a crew of 20 to 22 paddlers. The boats measure more than 10 meters and are elaborately painted with distinctive dragon heads and tails.
